In the heart of the Valais Alps, Crans-Montana is renowned for its Alpine charm, refined atmosphere, and rich heritage, spanned over a century.

The story of Crans-Montana began at the end of the 19th century when Dr. Théodore Stephani, a visionary physician, discovered the benefits of Crans-Montana's Alpine climate in 1893 and decided to establish a health resort there. Drawn by its pure air and magnificent panoramas, the first guests arrived to rejuvenate and treat a spectrum of respiratory conditions. The construction of the Grand Hotel in 1896 marked the dawn of a new era for the region, attracting the aristocracy and major European fortunes in search of health and well-being. Luxury hotels flourished, and Crans-Montana forged a reputation beyond its borders. The rise of the resort continued with the opening of the golf course in 1906, now a legendary attraction. Since 1939, it has hosted the Omega European Masters, an annual event bringing together the greatest names in world-class golf and contributing to the resort's renown. Crans-Montana is also a destination for skiers of all levels, with 140 km of slopes and prestigious events such as the Alpine Ski World Cup.
In addition to sport, Crans-Montana cultivates its traditions. Artisan markets and folklore festivals set the pace for local life, allowing visitors to discover ancestral know-how and customs. Committed to sustainability, the resort preserves its environment and proposes signposted trails to discover Alpine fauna and flora.
